Huai De Pavillion
Block E

Confucius wrote in Analects: Li Ren《論語裏仁》that a “noble man is one who pursues virtue” 懷德.The Pursuit of Virtue, is a philosophy that encourages people to emulate the ‘Noble Man’ in Confucius’s writings, taking priority in the examination and enhancement of personal virtue in their everyday life. When you find yourself in the “Huai De” Pavilion, you will regularly remind your next generation to learn the lessons of those departed on emulating the Noble Man, and to appreciate and be thankful for the kindness bestowed upon them.

Special Features:

Block E has two fronts facing statues of the Guanyin Bodhisattva. The view of the lake in the middle allows you to gaze upon the stone sculpture of the four-sided Guanyin Bodhisattva standing in the lake.

The 39-foot-tall stone sculpture of Guanyin Bodhisattva blesses the future generations with good fortune.

At the same time, Guanyin Bodhisattva symbolizes both the honouring of our ancestors, blessing those who have passed on to be at peace; and the encouragement and education to your next generation to be grateful and continue the pursuit of virtue.

The design of the niche door panel is inspired by the lotus flower, a heavenly and otherworldly symbol. Thus, paradise is also known as the “World of the lotus” or “Holy Lotus Land”, where the flowers flourish eternally in abundance, and exquisite silk brocade across the expanse.

The Sutra on Contemplation of Amitayus 《無量壽經》denotes that those reborn in paradise take the form of the lotus flower. All living things who pursue reincarnation in paradise have a deep connection with lotus flower, for the flower is where life exists, where er reside, and guides how we act.
