Jing Ning Pavillion
Block B

The words “Jing Ning” mean tranquility. Block B’s name is inspired by the Buddhist legend in which the Guanyin Bodhisattva left the mortal body and floated on a cloud to the peaceful Black Bamboo Forest in Mount Luojia in the South China Sea. It is here that the departed souls may rest in peace as if in the Black Bamboo Forest.

Special Features:

From a Feng Shui perspective, the building sits in the south, facing north. Two drum-shaped bearing stones (baogushi) guard both sides of the entrance, enhancing the majesty of the building.

The design of the niche door panel is based on Guanyin Bodhisattva, one of the Western Pure Land Trinity, who is the bodhisattva of great compassion. Residing in this pavilion symbolizes having a relationship with the Guanyin Bodhisattva who rescues departed souls in suffering and leads them to the Pure Land of Buddhism.
