The words “Ci Hui” mean compassion and wisdom. Block A’s name is inspired by two bodhisattvas, Guanyin Bodhisattva, the bodhisattva of great compassion, and Manjusri Bodhisattva, the bodhisattva of wisdom. It is here that both the departed souls and their descendants are protected and blessed by the light of the two bodhisattvas.
Special Features:
From a Feng Shui perspective, the building sits in the north, facing south. Two drum-shaped bearing stones (baogushi) guard both sides of the entrance, enhancing the majesty of the building.
The design of the niche door panel is inspired by Amitabha, the great saviour Buddha. The infinite light emitted by Amitabha is known to guide departed souls to the Pure Land of Buddhism.
